Project Aims

The Australian Science Enrolment Project is a PhD research project by John Kennedy of the University of New England (Australia). Its aims are:

To determine the extent of the decline in Science enrolments (and enrolment patterns generally) at the senior high-school level (Year 12).
To understand when, how and why students become less likely to choose a Year 11 or 12 science course compared to their other school subjects.
To identify the critical events in the school lives of students that affect their decision making processes as they enter post-compulsory education.
